Close those ears; or you might just hear Pelosi screaming!  It is a well known fact that our nation’s Liberal Speaker of the House is not only out for increasing government power, but she is out to find more power for herself, and when there is some one that gets in her way THAT MAKES HER STARK RAVING MAD!  Nancy Pelosi’s urn for power has once again been clearly confirmed, and this time it was because her “reign” has been halted by somebody else…  No it was not a member of the GOP, this time she was stopped by a member of her own party!  None other than that other power hungry fellow, Harry Reid.

            After the conference committee, which compared and contrasted the original and “compromise” stimulus packages and took what they wanted out of each, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid introduced the final cut to the press.   The Senate Majority leader was happy with the package, but the Speaker of the House was not.  Pelosi had wanted to fix up some provisions on school financing.  Yet the package was officially announced to the press anyway.  When all was done, you think Pelosi would concede and everything would be all good for the Democrats right?  Wrong.  The Speaker was in a tizzy!  The Politico reported:

“It’s ruffled feathers, big time,” said a House Democrat speaking on condition of anonymity. “The speaker went through the roof.”

And this is over what?  A committee appointment?  No.  A dead bill?  No.  A Republican filibuster?  No.  A disagreement over school financing in a bill which she has been swooning over?  Yes!  Nancy has so many other things to be going “through the roof” on besides one small provision in her favorite bill on the House floor!  You’ve got to be kidding me! Of course, it is not the financing itself that is so important to her, it is the wanting to get what she wants WHEN SHE WANTS IT; she believes that as Speaker she is entitled to this, of course maybe she should look up a word in her own rhetoric; compromise.  To borrow a phrase from a famous song, "You can't always get what you want."  Maybe Nancy could learn a lesson from this song.  Watching Harry Reid walk up to the press without the changes she wanted done, was more than she could bear! So watch out those of you at the new Capitol visitor’s center…you’ve been warned.
