REP. KEITH ELLISON ON HIS ARRESTED

An update on the arrests in front of the Sudanese Embassy's yesterday.

This morning one of the arrested, Rep. Keith Ellison, was on The Bill Press Show talking about his arrest yesterday.  POLITICO.com's "Shenanigans" blog reports:

Bill Press and Rep. Keith Ellison ham it up this morning on Press's radio show.

Ellison, remember, was arrested yesterday for protesting outside the Sudanese embassy. It was the Congressman's first time -- being arrested.

"We knew we were going to get arrested," he said. "The police were pretty good, I can't fault them at all. They said, 'here's the line - you stay over here  and everything will be all right.'" But why do that?

"Even though you know you're going to get out, it actually is disconcerting. It's like, 'Wow, ok, my hands can't move, they're back there and they're  behind my back and I can't move'em if I want to, and I'm in this tiny little paddy wagon and you know it's bad."

He was in the clink for about four hours. "I'm just saying, under the best conditions it's an unpleasant experience," he said.

The other side of the story is that no one has seen any of the so-called "Right-Wing Extremists" in jail for protesting recently... Of course, the mainstream media won't report either the story itself or this it's flip side in any thoughtful detail.
